This section describes the precautions of Viewer.
- Run Viewer on the computer connected to the Internet.
- Adjust date and time setting on the computer running Viewer. If the setting has large time lag, Viewer may not open a protected file.
- When Viewer opens a protected file, Viewer validates an SSL certificate. If the certificate has a problem such as non-trusted or expired, Viewer cannot open a protected file. In this case, the message "Failed to connect to the server. Please check SSL certification is correct." will appear.
- When you click [File]-[Print] from the menu and print out a protected file by virtual printer (that outputs to a file not a paper), the output file is not protected.
- There are the following restrictions when you specify angle for watermark.
- If watermark text does not fit in a page, Viewer automatically adjusts its position to fit in the page.
- If watermark text still does not fit in a page with the above adjustment, some part of watermark text will not appear.
- Search function may not work in the case of zooming up. You can avoid this problem by clicking [View]-[Fit Width] from the menu.
- Surrogate pair characters in the Properties dialog are garbled.
- If bookmark text includes control characters, the characters are converted "・".
- Please do not use surrogate pair characters for watermarks. Surrogate pair characters in watermarks do not appear or are garbled.
- You can use only Japanese and English for watermarks. When characters of other languages are used, the characters do not appear or are garbled.
- Please add Japanese to your computer's language settings when you use Japanese for watermaks or PDF text. Otherwise Japanese characters do not appear or are garbled.
- When the document has a signature field, the signature field appear before watermarks.
